Risk and Controls Specialist

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional Accounting qualification (CA or CPA).
• 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.

Preferred qualifications:

• Industry security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CISA, etc.).
• Experience with Business Recognition principles under ASC605 and ASC606.
• Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments and multiple teams simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and deliver on commitments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and people management skills, with the ability to work with teams cross-functionally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Design and implement effective Internal Control over Ads, Business and Payments areas to address relevant assertions.
• Work closely with Business Finance Accounting Controllership to create an effective control environment for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and non-Sarbanes-Oxley scope areas.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across Google’s business and product areas to influence change related to controls and process improvements.
• Evaluate control deficiencies and design and oversee remediation plans. Facilitate the completion of all other necessary work by process and control owners to manage the quarterly certification by the control owners.
• Perform annual risk assessments. Create and maintain the currency of all relevant SOX documentation. Take stewardship of SOX controls and in-scope processes and become an advocate for controls throughout the Organization.
