Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing security features.
- Experience analyzing systems and identifying security problems, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and remediation.
- Knowledge of software services, authentication protocols, network security.
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
- Research with executive engineers to identify new attack vectors that need to be covered by automated scanning, and that may pose a significant security risk to the Alphabet.
- Create vulnerability management assessments using a risk-based lens and develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Analyze, design, and deploy the next generation of security scanning and analysis automation.
- Produce metrics and insights to help track the health of our vulnerability management strategy and programs. Enable compliance support through security actions in engineering.
