Senior Quality Engineer - Platform (Cross-Platform Validation Services)

We are looking for an experienced, high-energy senior engineer for our Platform team. You will use proven testing practices to foster excellence in our products. This includes usage and development of tools and frameworks needed to support testing and release builds. You will apply your technical knowledge, leadership skills, software development methodologies, best test practices, and proven processes to consistently deliver great quality products in a predictable manner. This position is based out of one of the offices of our affiliate Acqueon Technologies in India, and will adopt the hybrid work arrangements of that location. You will be a member of the Acqueon team with responsibilities supporting Five9 products, collaborating with global teammates based primarily in the United States.

You are an adaptable, conscientious, diligent, hard working quality engineer with strong knowledge of Core Testing Chops and computer fundamentals plus knowledge of our stack. You have 5–8+ years of expertise in quality assurance, automation frameworks, and testing strategies. You have a strong knowledge and experience in scripting languages and test automation tools.

What You Do
(Job Scope, Complexity & Problem Solving)
You are a member of a team of quality and test automation engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions. Your work focuses on contribution to test automation coverage by creating new test scripts and methods to the existing frameworks. You are delivering assigned or self-selected testing tasks efficiently and with testability - including complex tasks from backlog in their area of expertise. You are skilfully diagnosing and anticipating problems/bugs, solving with industry patterns.

You are collaborating well with team, both accepting feedback and helping others get past problems, making sure project is moving forward. You can interface with other quality engineers, developers and Product Managers.

You are testing chops in your localized module/project. Both Follow and Contribute to process, security, documentation, best practices. You rapidly refine and improve your skills based on feedback. You don't get silently stuck. You have strong ability to efficiently deliver medium complexity tasks in self-directed way with weekly management check-ins.

Typical Barriers to Entry
This role typically requires strong experience in testing and computer fundamentals, strong knowledge and experience in scripting languages and test automation tools and strong ability to diagnose technical issues. Without prior testing and automation experience, candidates may find it challenging to meet the demands of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run, analyse and troubleshoot regular cross-platform certification test suites
• Contribute to extension of the coverage of the certification suites as well as the test frameworks
• Fix potential test suite and framework issues
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
• Participate in Agile software development initiatives (stand-up, grooming session, sprint demo, increment planning)
• Working within geographically distributed team of Dev, DB architects, PdM, RM, and QE
• Must be willing to participate in on-call responsibilities

Required skills:

• Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent
• 5-8+ years’ experience as a QE/QA the SaaS industry, understanding of SW development process and testing methodologies, tools and processes
• Knowledge of SW version control, bug-tracking, and test management systems
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
• Experience in frontend testing of Web based applications
• Proven experience in building, maintaining, and supporting test solutions for enterprise SaaS applications
• Experience with API testing
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills, logs analysis
• Problem solving, analytical and positive attitude
• Good technical English reading, writing, and verbal skills
• Strong interpersonal, reliable and communication skills

Desirable skills:

• Knowledge of programming techniques and algorithms (OOP, multithreading, script languages such as Python/Java)
• Cloud platform experience such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure automation software tools
• Experience in Selenium and Page Object Model 
• Experience in Coding Integrated Development Environment (e.g. Java IDE (Eclipse, InteliJ, etc.))
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux
• Experience with Call Center practices
