Role Description: A Senior Payroll Specialist in the Netherlands is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, managing statutory and company updates, and maintaining robust controls and reconciliations. Their key responsibilities fall under the main payroll process and statutory/company updates and changes. The Senior Payroll Specialist primarily operates within the SAP HR environment, working closely with HR Operations, Finance, and relevant IT systems. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: Review and process changes in employee data from Workday into SAP HR, ensuring documentation and approvals for new hires, terminations, and amendments Prepare and perform flux (variance) analysis between payroll runs, identify and explain variances above thresholds, and ensure accountability for retroactive corrections Create and reconcile payroll payment files, interface with banking platforms, and ensure payments are correct and authorized per controls Participate in quarterly and annual regulatory filings, maintaining compliance with SOx, GDPR, and other relevant regulatory frameworks Support Regional Manager Payroll by preparing detailed reconciliation reports for payroll journals and account reconciliations Collaborate with HR Operations, Finance, and IT support to ensure smooth interfaces, system updates, and process improvements Maintain and update process documentation and records, ensuring all payroll activities are properly documented and available for review or audit Qualifications & Skills: Strong analytical and IT skills, especially in SAP HR and relevant payroll and banking platforms Thorough knowledge of Dutch payroll legislation and processes Awareness of control frameworks such as SOx and GDPR Ability to review and approve complex transactions High attention to detail. Strong organizational skills.
