Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in cloud computing concepts such as Big Data, Platform-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies.
- 2 years of experience in leading the pre-sales Engineering team.
- Experience presenting and delivering technical pitches.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in Japanese with local stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as a technology consultant, technical architect, technical sales engineer, or solutions architect.
- Knowledge of Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS industry and technical concepts of web application development platforms and related technologies.
- Ability to inspire/grow Sales teams and work with cross-functional teams to achieve common business objectives.
- Ability to craft a compelling message and tailor it for a given audience.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
As a Scaled Customer Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of pre-sales Customer Engineers, who will engage with prospects, understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google Cloud products and services, guide the customer through implementation and production deployment, and address and overcome technical objections that arise throughout the process. You will engage with prospects and work cross-functionally with Product, Support, Engineering, and Sales teams.

- Hire, coach, and drive a Customer Engineering team to deliver assigned goals across the Japan and Korea market while prioritizing an excellent customer experience to customers and prospects.
- Manage the business operation to operate at scale, maximizing for specialization and technical certifications to cover and support the regions pipeline.
- Explore the technical side of Small and Medium-sized Business (SMBs) opportunities and collaboratively set the strategy with account executive counterparts.
- Organize and train the Customer Engineering team on go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in Customer Engineering preparedness and build plans to ensure the Customer Engineering team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of the regions goals.
- Coach Customer Engineers on Google Cloud products, demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments.
