Accessible Experience Design is at the heart of Audible’s goal to be customer obsessed. The UX team works ceaselessly to transform deep customer insights into delightful and innovative product experiences that drive business results and customer satisfaction. We’re seeking an Accessibility & UX Design Expert who blends deep accessibility knowledge with operational excellence. This role is perfect for a seasoned practitioner who’s ready to scale their impact across teams, enabling a culture of accessibility-first thinking while reserving time for hands-on work on high-impact, high-complexity accessibility challenges.

As a Senior Designer of Accessibility Design, you will...
- Thrive at the forefront of accessibility design initiatives and broadcast efforts across Audible, building upon existing product direction and pioneer the strategic evolution for Accessibility Design at Audible
- Act as the accessibility point of contact and thought leader across partner teams (UX, engineering, product, QA, marketing, legal) to align priorities and influence strategic direction. You'll foster an accessibility-first culture by facilitating feedback loops and ensuring our tools and processes evolve with organizational needs
- Create accessibility tools, documentation, and resources that enable designers, engineers, and product managers to independently meet accessibility goals
- Integrate accessibility standards into design systems to ensure compliance and usability at a global scale. Additionally, you will collaborate with QA and engineering teams to implement automated accessibility testing
- Foster and maintain scalable frameworks and workflows that make accessibility inherent to our product lifecycle. Through training programs, playbooks, and reference models, you'll elevate team capabilities and establish consistent testing strategies across automated and manual scenarios
- Mentor and help grow talent within Audible while scaling and force-multiplying the Accessibility team
- Represent Audible UX Design within the global design community, attending and speaking at conferences

- Experience with creating accessible digital experiences, including experience working with users who have a range of disabilities (visual, auditory, cognitive, motor)
- Experience with WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, Section 508, ADA, and other international accessibility standards and guidelines
- Experience with integrating accessibility practices into design systems, component libraries, and workflows (expertise with Figma, Storybook, Jira/Confluence/AirTable)
- Familiarity with common accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse, Wave, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
- Experience collaborating with QA teams to implement effective accessibility validation processes and test scenarios
- Understanding of accessibility audits and the ability to perform comprehensive accessibility reviews and usability tests
- Operational expertise: experience building and maintaining tools and resources to scale accessibility practices across cross-functional teams
- Communication skills to advocate for accessibility, educate stakeholders, and influence product strategy
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration, including working with product managers, engineers, and other UX designers to implement inclusive design solutions- Experience in leading accessibility initiatives across large teams and organizations, with a proven track record of scaling accessibility best practices
- Proficiency with assistive technologies like screen readers, magnification software, speech recognition, etc
- Experience with user research specific to accessibility, including user interviews, usability studies, and testing with assistive technology users
- Experience with inclusive design methodologies, such as human-centered design, and familiarity with universal design principles
- Familiarity with automated accessibility testing in CI/CD environments, and experience setting up or maintaining accessibility testing pipelines (in collaboration with QA Engineers)
- Experience with accessibility risk assessment and mitigation strategies to balance development velocity with accessibility compliance; familiarity with accessibility bug prioritization frameworks and remediation workflows
- Familiarity with legal requirements and compliance standards beyond WCAG, such as ADA, Section 508, and other global standards (EN 301 549, AODA, etc.)
- Experience with stakeholder management and the ability to influence both leadership and technical teams to prioritize accessibility
- Teaching or mentoring experience - e.g., conducting workshops, creating educational content, or training cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with Agile and product development methodologies, including how accessibility fits into iterative design and delivery processes
- Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus
