About Us

At Prenuvo, we are on a mission to flip the paradigm from reactive “sick-care” to proactive health care. Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience of our clinics across North America, have allowed us to lead the charge against “we caught it too late again.”

We are looking for a Medical Image Annotation & Research Associate to join our dynamic Clinical data sciences and AI annotation Team. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of medical imaging annotation projects, with a primary focus on labeling and validating radiology data to ensure high-quality ground truth for AI model development. You will be responsible for performing rigorous quality control of AI-generated outputs, while also supporting data management, exploratory analytics, and literature-based research to inform ongoing innovation in medical imaging AI.

This position is preferably based in Vancouver for an on-site, hybrid work arrangement located at 1290 Homer Street, Vancouver BC, V6H 1E1 allowing for seamless collaboration with our expert teams.

Help reshape the world through proactive healthcare while working with cutting-edge technology and high performing teams with deep expertise - join us to make a difference in people’s lives!

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end medical image annotation process, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of ground truth data for AI model training and validation.
  • Support annotation project timelines, resources, and deliverables, aligning cross-functional teams to meet quality and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical experts to refine annotation protocols and improve labeling strategies based on clinical best practices and AI model feedback.
  • Perform detailed reviews of annotated datasets, identify discrepancies or quality issues, and provide actionable feedback to enhance annotation accuracy and reviewer consistency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including annotation guidelines, quality control protocols, tracking systems, and training materials, to support scalable and standardized workflows.
  • Assist with implementing robust quality control measures to ensure adherence to best practices in radiology image annotation for AI applications.
  • Conduct research, literature reviews, data analysis and visualization to assess annotation quality, model performance trends, and project progress, supporting evidence-based data-driven decision-making.
  • Support regulatory and clinical validation activities, partnering with compliance teams to ensure all workflows align with relevant regulatory standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • Genuine interest in Prenuvo’s mission, with a passion for advancing healthcare through responsible, innovative use of AI, research, and data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside radiologists, AI researchers, data scientists, and regulatory professionals.
  • Strong analytical and image interpretation skills, with the ability to accurately identify and annotate complex medical features in MRI scans.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, disease pathology, and diagnostic imaging modalities, with a focus on MRI.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify discrepancies and maintain high annotation accuracy and consistency.
  • Previous experience in research and literature review required, including the ability to synthesize findings to inform annotation protocols, model development, and regulatory documentation.
  • Research project management skills, with experience coordinating timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
  • Competence in data management and basic data analytics, including the ability to organize, track, and interpret annotation and model performance data using spreadsheets or visualization tools.
  • Previous hands-on experience using medical image annotation tools, particularly for MRI studies, is preferred.
  • Academic training or equivalent professional experience (e.g., biomedical sciences, radiology, medical imaging, or life sciences) is preferred with demonstrated expertise in anatomy, pathology, and radiology imaging—particularly sectional anatomy in MRI
    • Having a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MD, and/or PhD in a relevant field is an added bonus.
