About the Team:

About the Role:

As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with engineers, architects, and product leaders to oversee the technical delivery of our solutions. You will empower your teams to make informed decisions by setting clear expectations and supporting evidence-driven practices. You will typically manage 1 or 2 scrum teams and act as the delivery owner for your teams. This role requires deep technical skills, hands-on software engineering experience, and strong soft skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring they are productive and able to contribute effectively. Oversee the execution and performance of the team, ensuring they deliver on commitments.
Technical Leadership: Provide the technical leadership needed to guide challenging projects. Remove roadblocks and ensure the team has the necessary resources and support.
Project Management: Act as a delivery owner for your teams, managing the technical delivery of solutions. Ensure appropriate collaboration and engagement with Principal Engineers, Architecture, Dev Teams, and Product/Engineering Leaders.
Agile Practices: Ensure the team follows agile practices and processes. Manage JIRA and other tools and communicate with Product Management. Provide metrics and reporting to Engineering Leadership regarding team functionality.
Quality Assurance: Be accountable for the code quality, security, and maintenance of the software your team builds. Use metrics to support and understand team performance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a conduit for communication between Product Managers, Management, and team members. Protect team commitments and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Mentorship: Act as a mentor for team members, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Coordination: Coordinate work with other scrum teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration across the organization.

Your Key Strengths:

Proven experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
Recent experience in Development Manager or Team Lead role.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and scrum practices.
Solid experience with software development life cycle (e.g., gathering requirements, analysis and design, development, release and version control, deployment management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools.

Bonus Skills:

Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
Prior experience in healthcare technology field
Previous experience utilizing the following technologies/toolsets/applications:
·       Spring Framework 2.x or higher, including Spring MVC
·       MySQL, IntelliJ
·       HTML/CSS/JavaScript
·       Web service platforms.
