As an AWS Database Sales Specialist, you will contribute to driving adoption and revenue growth for AWS's comprehensive suite of database services, with a focus on their integration with Generative AI technologies. Your role will involve implementing strategic approaches to identify high-value customer opportunities in Canada and engaging with AWS customers to understand their data management needs and align them with AWS database solutions. You will handle complex initiatives throughout the full-cycle sales engagement plan, from identifying qualified leads to realizing revenue.
You will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, implementing and optimizing AWS database services to unlock new value streams and solve key business problems. With a strong understanding of how AWS database services power Generative AI applications, you'll help customers navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-driven data management.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and optimize strategies to drive revenue, adoption, and market penetration of AWS database services such as Amazon Aurora, Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon DocumentDB, and others within your assigned territory.
• Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS database services, with a focus on their role in powering Generative AI applications.
• Contribute to comprehensive account/territory plans to meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
• Handle complex initiatives while collaborating with Solutions Architects, GTM, and Partners to drive customer outcomes, especially in the context of Generative AI implementations.
• Engage with C-level executives and technical decision-makers to understand their business initiatives and craft solutions that leverage AWS database services.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and develop strategic relationships with key accounts.
• Contribute to best practices by staying current with database technology trends, especially in relation to Generative AI, monitor the competitive landscape, and educate customers on how AWS services can meet their evolving needs.
• Work effectively with AWS partners to extend reach and drive adoption of database services in AI-driven applications.
• Gather customer feedback to inform product roadmaps and enhance the AWS database service offerings.

- 10+ years of experience selling technology solutions, with a focus on cloud computing, database technologies, or related fields.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in enterprise software or cloud services.
- Strong understanding of database technologies and their role in modern cloud and Generative AI architectures.
- Experience with emerging technologies and identifying product-market fit for new solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.- Experience with AWS database services and their integration with AI/ML workloads.
- Familiarity with vector databases and their applications in Generative AI.
- Understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and other AI-enhanced data retrieval techniques.
- Experience selling to a variety of customer types including Enterprise, ISV, SMB, and Startups.
- Knowledge of the competitive landscape in database technologies.
