Key job responsibilities
The Materials Management is responsible for all activities related to order fulfillment, from forecasts to delivery, including day-to-day communication and management of the OEM partner globally. This person has a business orientation and is responsible for working within the local and remote Operations team driving order fulfillment. In this role, you will:
- Manage team of Materials Managers in US and Asia responsible for NPI materials availability. The Materials team may:
- Act as the primary liaison between OEM and team in Sunnyvale monitoring, managing and driving the OEM to assure goals/schedule is being met
- Communicate forecast and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective
- Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any shortages preventing meeting order schedule, including assisting in sourcing materials as required
- Schedule and host meetings with suppliers in US and/or globally as required reducing and eliminating shortages
- Review and verify any E&O (Excess & Obsolescence) generated from NPI builds and drive solutions to minimize E&O amount.
- Be responsible for report generation and distribution
- Represent the materials organization in internal Lab126/Amazon program meetings
- Some travel may be required

- 2+ years of management of an OEM partner
- Experience sourcing electronic components including hard to find/obsolete parts
- Experience with MS Office, specifically Excel - Bachelor’s degree or higher-level education preferred
- Previous management experience, preferably in a consumer market Segment Company
- Proven ability to form and lead teams in ambiguous environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to senior management, peers, and team members
- Ability to influence cross functional teams
- Logistics/customs clearance and Incoterms knowledge - in particular as it relates to Vietnam regulations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
