Amazon Web Services (AWS) Corporate Communications is seeking a creative and strategic communicator with the experience and media relationships to deliver programs and stories that inspire our customers.

The candidate for this AWS media strategy role has a proven track record of creating and executing media relations strategies within large, fast-moving global organizations. You will be able to demonstrate strong direct ownership of the programs you’ve run, the ability to earn the trust of internal and external stakeholders, and a history of developing, pitching, and securing high-impact media coverage. As an experienced storyteller, you’ve translated complex technical concepts into terms that people worldwide can understand.


Key job responsibilities
• Identify and develop creative story ideas
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key journalists and third parties
• Create media strategies for high-profile events and announcements
• Explore new channels for reaching customers with our story
• Regularly interact with senior leaders
• Manage complex topics with high-judgment and professionalism
• Work cross-functionally to plan and execute global PR campaigns
• Support the development and execution of media engagement programs

This AWS Public Relations (PR) manager will partner with teams across Amazon and provide strategic counsel to business leaders during high-profile events. A strong candidate enjoys diving deep into industry topics to understand their impact on customers, then executing programs that explain these topics to media and third parties to better educate and inspire customers. You are a person who is motivated by a dynamic and highly creative environment with endless potential to break new ground and redefine best practices.- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Business-to-business experience required- Current experience managing media relationships, and a network of media contacts
- Strong commitment to professional growth, work-life harmony, and personal interests
- An entrepreneurial spirit, including ability to operate independently and autonomously
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A track record of successfully representing high-profile companies or issues
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to communicate complex topics effectively
- Passionate about excellence in writing and verbal communications
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
