We are looking for a Fraud operations leader to manage and scale our fraud/abuse strategy and operations team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leading a team of business analysts and fraud experts in driving fraud strategy improvements, insights to enhance our machine learning models, and help us make better business decisions. The candidate will work cross functionally with business, payments, science, and operational teams to protect our business and enable growth.
Key job responsibilities
• Hire and manage a strategy and operations team consisting of fraud and abuse experts.
• Establish, constantly improve, and be a thought leader for fraud and abuse management.
• Assist in defining policies and product features to support fraud and abuse decisioning and monitoring
• Develop processes, mechanisms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to grow the team efficiently and in a scalable way
• Identify innovations and drive experiments that provide customers with a great payment experience
• Identify, monitor and communicate the right metrics to measure decision quality and portfolio health
• Participate as part of the Fraud Management leadership team in program operations and contribute to team-wide improvement goals

• 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
• 3+ years of managing a team of individual contributors
• Experience working with large scale fraud and abuse managements systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
• Clear examples of demonstrated judgment and strategic insight
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• High attention to detail and desire to roll up sleeves and solve problems at root cause
• Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
• MBA, CFA or Master's Degree in relevant fields
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python, and experience in processing complex datasets from multiple sources
• Experience in standing up a brand new fraud, abuse, or risk management program

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
