The Trade Desk is seeking an accountant based in our Shanghai office to assist in the USGAAP accounting and statutory reporting for an assigned portfolio of APAC entities. Reporting to the APAC accounting manager and working with a team of accounting professionals, the accountant will be a key member of the Finance team in our APAC region and play a crucial role to ensure the accurate and timely execution of the month end closing and statutory reporting processes.

What you’ll do

• Participate in the month-end close and contribute to the timeliness and accuracy of monthly close.
• Prepare journals including but not limited to cash activities, accruals, intercompany transactions and other business transactions under US GAAP.
• Prepare reconciliations and analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts.
• Collect, compile and verify information required for the preparation of statutory and compliance reports and regulatory filings.
• Assist in process improvements, respond to accounting questions and participate in improvement projects.
• Assist in external audit and other compliance tasks and independently handle basic audit and compliance queries.
• Collaborate with accounting operations functions, including credit and collections, accounts payable, payroll and stock admin teams, to provide country-level support.
• Support new initiatives and special projects, as required.

Who you are

• 4+ years of experience in a public or corporate accounting position.
• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting, CPA/ACCA preferred. Big 4 audit experience is a plus.
• Excellent command of English, both oral and written, and comfortable working in an English-speaking environment.
• Strong execution and dedication to teamwork and collaboration across international regions and different time zones.
• High financial acumen and acute attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple high priorities and have a willingness to learn.
• Demonstrated experience applying innovative ideas to new or recurring work processes.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet applications.
