About the team
As we grow in France, we’re seeking a world-class communications leader to help shape our reputation in the country. The ideal candidate is ambitious, strategic, creative, and comfortable moving between corporate, product, go-to-market, and internal comms. They are interested in economic enablement and love nothing more than spending time with people who are building businesses large and small. They have a proven track record leading communications for global brands in France, preferably at the crossroads of technology and financial services.
This is an important job with room to build things from the ground up, while working closely with our executives, engineers, sales, partnerships, marketing and policy colleagues around the world.
This role reports into the Head of International Communications.
What you’ll do
Responsibilities
- Shape Stripe’s narrative in France, connecting Stripe’s product and mission to what’s top of mind for decision makers in France.
- Work closely with Stripe partners and customers of all sizes –from Mistral to Alma, Le Monde, La Redoute or Accor–, infusing their voices into campaigns, news announcements, and other activities.
- Imagine and launch creative campaigns across multiple formats (video, social) and audiences that grow Stripe’s reputation in France.
- Advocate for Stripe’s point-of-view on industry and regulatory topics in France and the EU, growing our profile as a thought leader among relevant stakeholders.
- Own relationships with key local reporters, influencers and opinion formers.
- Manage complex and sensitive corporate issues.
- Work closely with the global comms team and potentially lead a small local team over time.
- Sit on our French leadership team working hand-in-hand with local leaders across product, go-to-market, and policy.
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- At least 10 years of experience in technology and B2B public relations, preferably in a technology, high-growth and/or financial services environment.
- A strong track record leading communications for an iconic brand in France and building creative communications campaigns from scratch.
- Curiosity, great taste and creativity.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration; creativity; and project management skills in rapidly changing, sometimes ambiguous, often scrappy situations.
- Relationships with key business and technology reporters, and the ability to build new ones quickly.
- A good understanding of social media, and how to engage influential stakeholders online.
