Security Operations Engineer (SOC)

Toast is seeking a Security Operations Engineer (SOC) to bolster our security team and help protect our innovative restaurant platform.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

• Respond to and investigate security incidents, escalating as necessary
• Develop and implement tools and processes for risk monitoring, detection, and mitigation
• Collaborate with security team members to drive positive security changes across the company
• Analyze alerts and anomalies from monitoring solutions in our environment
• Create and refine detection rules for malicious activity in AWS and corporate environments
• Utilize EDR solutions to respond to suspicious activities and maintain system baselines
• Participate in threat hunting efforts
• Apply programming skills to automate security solutions and resolve findings
• Work closely with development teams to foster a security-first mindset

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language
• Experience in leveraging automation for security problem-solving
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture and security best practices
• Familiarity with common penetration testing tools and techniques
• Basic knowledge of Red team/Blue team concepts
• Experience in incident response and threat modeling
• Familiarity with Splunk or similar SIEM platforms

Extra ingredients (Nice to haves):

• Understanding of SIEM and SOC workflows
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in FinTech or similar high-security industries
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GCIH, CISSP, AWS CSA) are a plus

**This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in our Dublin office**
