The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Lead to supervise the strategy, architecture, and execution of interactive experiences on Roblox. This role requires an outstanding blend of technical expertise and leadership, making it critical to the delivery of high-quality, performant, and innovative experiences. As the Technical Lead, you’ll work closely with creative teams, engineering, and brand partners, ensuring that projects meet both the technical standards of the platform and the creative aspirations of our partners.

You Will:

• Develop and implement the vision and architecture for experiences, aligning with Roblox’s standards and Partner Innovation Studio’s creative goals.
• Ensure experiences are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability on Roblox, focusing on platform-specific features that improve engagement and immersion.
• Lead external and internal developers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive a high standard of technical execution.
• Partner with creative, product, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical feasibility, timelines, and requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers to develop a prioritized technical roadmap that balances feature development with platform optimization.
• Be the go-to person for internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements, risks, and solutions.
• Define and manage technical resources and budgets, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with project goals.
• Lead QA efforts and technical reviews, establishing best practices to ensure a smooth and stable user experience on all devices.
• Proactively identify potential technical risks and implement strategies to address challenges, ensuring seamless project delivery.
• Advocate for technical innovation and process improvements, using feedback and performance metrics to refine development approaches and optimize future projects.

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience in technical leadership, software engineering, or a related role in gaming, digital media, or interactive experiences.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams in the development of large-scale products or interactive experiences, with a focus on delivering high-performance, high-quality products.
• Expertise in platform optimization, technical architecture, and immersive technology, ideally with Roblox Studio and Lua scripting experience.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex technical and partner relationships across multiple projects.
• Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, technical roadmaps, and experience prioritizing technical features for optimized outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in bringing to bear performance data and audience insights to inform decisions.
• A passion for immersive storytelling, innovation, and pioneering new technical frontiers in interactive media.
