Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Direct Tax Reporting group within the Worldwide Capital Expenditures (CapEx) team. The mission of the Tax CapEx Team is to timely, accurately, and efficiently report the US income tax impact of global CapEx to our internal customers.

This role will work across Amazon business lines focusing on CapEx related initiatives that impact the Tax Department from a compliance, process or system perspective. Key job responsibilities
- Manage delivery of US income tax requirements for CapEx intensive external-facing business projects across various business lines (Amazon Studios, Global Real Estate, Operations, Amazon Air, etc.)
- Liaison with upstream business partners to provide technology automation requirements which optimize reporting efficiency for owned and leased assets.
- Report out to the Senior Manager/Team Lead on project status and resource needs
- Draft technical documents that are detailed and actionable by a wide audience; collaborate with various Tax, Accounting, Business, and FinTech teams
- Develop working knowledge in CapEx related income tax reporting matters to reduce project burden on SMEs
- Develop working knowledge of technology and processes impacting this space. Participate in new system testing; wireframe, and system design workshops

- 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Multi-departmental project management experience.- - Advanced understanding of CapEx-related recognition issues and income tax accounting considerations.
- - Tax and/or accounting experience in the fixed asset and/or leasing space.
- - CPA, MBA or MST preferred.
- - Excellent data and analytical skills
- - Excellent organizational and project management skills
- - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- - Excellent technology skills including Excel, Word and Power Point. SmartSheet, Asana or other project management technology experience is a plus.
- - Previous public accounting experience.
- - Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and independently define, implement, and manage creation of new processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
