About the opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Labour Relations Manager or a Legal Counsel Employment Law. The role will report into the Director of Labor Relations, Employment Law and Rewards. You will work in partnership with the People team and the business teams to support with all employment legal issues, but also be the direct point of contact for our works councils.

You will be joining N26 to develop legally compliant processes in all the relevant territories. In this role, you will support the governance and communications strategy towards all employee representations. You will provide day-to day advice and will be a strong partner for the full range of labor relations topics. 

You will be responsible for developing the right processes to successfully implement and amend the global people guidelines, translating the employee relations strategy into policies and works agreements and processes to support the business in its operational delivery. You will negotiate with our works councils.

We are looking for a talented HR or Legal professional who will prepare N26 for the next phase of maturity. You will manage and take ownership of deliverables, share your technical expertise within the team, and work across a broad cross-functional range of stakeholders to drive change.

In this role, you will:

  • Keep a clear overview of all current topics, projects and deadlines and manage them.

  • Provide practical daily advise on all kinds of employment law topics.

  • Be a trustworthy person of contact for the people team, the business stakeholders and our work councils.

  • Focus on collaboration with your key stakeholders.

  • Handle all issues in a confidential and professional manner.

  • Prepare information and consultation of works councils to advice on business decisions.

  • Supporting negotiations.

  • Be proactive in finding solutions to adapt the business requirements to local regulations.

What you need to be successful:

Background: 

  • Profound knowledge on German Employment Law.

  • Experience working with German work councils.

  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience. 

  • Fluency in German would be beneficial.

Skills: 

  • Experienced in organisational development and change management and you have a broad understanding of employee relations and employee representation.

  • Prepare information/consultation documentation to support discussion with works councils.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, including the ability to organise, plan, and prioritise tasks.

  • Flexibility, the ability to meet deadlines, and changing direction when needed.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with an ability to connect at all levels of an organisation and to influence others.

  • Very strong communication and the ability to express complex legal related (and complex) topics in a clear, concise and pragmatic manner.
