A day in the life
As a Data Scientist at Amazon, you'll start your day by reviewing the latest data trends and system performance metrics. You might collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges, then dive into data analysis using advanced statistical methods. You'll develop models to optimize logistics processes, present findings to business partners, and work on implementing solutions that directly impact Amazon's customers.- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
- Experience with SQL.
- Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field. - Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
- Experience in LLM finetuning, pretraining, testing, and prompt engineering.
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $97,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
