The community you will join:

Airbnb is seeking a Communications Intern to join the Internal Comms team for our 2025 Summer Intern Program from May 19, 2025 - August 8, 2025.

The Internal Comms team at Airbnb works directly with the CEO to craft and produce our internal company narrative. As part of this, we work on creative content for critical communications and company-wide forums that reach our 7,000 employees worldwide. 

 

The difference you will make:

You will have a unique opportunity to leverage your creativity and fill a skill gap within our team around content creation, upleveling the output of the CEO internal comms team. You will take the lead in creating engaging content around our critical company-wide meetings, including all-hands and Q&As. The focus will be understanding and reaching an audience in fun, innovative ways. This will include brainstorming new tactics to increase employee engagement with CEO-led content, making sure employees are excited and engaged; contributing to meeting and communications content; and helping execute new ways to to share content with employees, including recap strategies, ensuring the information is digestible and entertaining for our employees. By owning this project, you will not only enhance your skills but also contribute to educating the team on effective content creation techniques, and shape employee engagement across the company.

In addition, you will be encouraged to incorporate current trends in media and content creation into your work, making it relevant and appealing. You will also write content for our company newsletters and Slack channels, ensuring that important information is communicated effectively across the organization. Your contributions will play a vital role in keeping our team informed and engaged.

This is a small team with a blank-slate opportunity for creative minds—we’re looking for big, weird ideas and the execution chops to see them through.

Airbnb interns are integrated into teams where they are able to contribute to meaningful projects. Your manager, team, and our incredible employee community will strive to be Superhosts to you during the summer. We provide the support, mentorship, fun, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product, as Airbnb revolutionizes connection, belonging, and travel. You can expect to:

  • Collaborate with multiple team members to achieve project milestones
  • Communicate with stakeholders across different teams to provide project updates
  • Seek and provide feedback throughout the internship
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Internal Comms team and broader Airbnb community

Important Note: The Internal Comms team works with employees in other time zones. If hired as an intern, you may need to accommodate global teammates from time-to-time and should expect to be frequently available during Pacific Time business hours.

 

Your expertise:

This opportunity is for third-year Bachelor students or first-year Master students graduating between December 2025 - June 2026 with the following skills and background:

  • Undergraduate major or graduate program in Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or similar field
  • Skilled at creating short-form media content in different formats (including photo editing, video editing, and production )
  • Experience with understanding audience engagement, and creating campaign strategies that generate buzz
  • A sense of humor! And a passion for pop culture, social media, and trends
  • Strong sense of creativity and desire to innovate—able to devise fun and engaging methods for presenting information effectively
  • Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail 
  • Proficient time management and organization, with the ability to manage quick and unexpected deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle fast-paced environments and unexpected deadlines
  • Interest in and basic understanding of the business and branding 
  • Passion for the Airbnb mission; experience with the platform is a plus!
  • Work authorization for employment in the United States is required (CPT/OPT is accepted) - visa sponsorship and relocation to the US is unavailable
