The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our amazing Controllership team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the period-end accounting closing cycles, preparing and recording general journal entries, preparing consolidated accounts and conducting account reconciliations. This position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks, with an expectation for growth into more complex responsibilities and potential management roles. 

The position can be based in either Barcelona, Birmingham or London. We welcome candidates applying from any country and we are able to provide a supporting relocation package if needed.

What you will do:

  • Perform a magnitude of different tasks for month-end and year-end closing;
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and subsequent analytical reviews of any discrepancies;
  • Manage and review intercompany journal entries and their reconciliations;
  • Supporting the business growth in an organized and controlled way;
  • Act as the primary accountant for consolidated foreign currency revaluation and translation processes;
  • Lead accountant for holding company accounting, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation accounting;
  • Perform monthly and yearly consolidation, and prepare appropriate financial statements;
  • Be in charge of the audit of your subsidiaries being the main point of contact for external auditors.

What you need:

  • Extensive experience in accounting required, including training in intermediate and advanced accounting topics
  • Accountant designation (ACA, ACCA or CPA) or progress towards designation
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Proven track record of working w/ multi-entity and global organizations
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and fluent in English
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Analytical thinker and detailed oriented
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in setting up financial controls
  • Experience in the travel industry 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Netsuite experience
