Job Description

Remote

M&A Integration and Ops Associate, Corporate Development:

The mission of HubSpot’s Corporate Development team is to expand and enhance our organization’s growth via strategic acquisitions and investments.

Through acquisitions and investments, HubSpot is seeking to add capabilities that serve our mission for helping small and medium-sized businesses market, sell, serve their customers, and ultimately grow better. We serve more than 240,000 customers in over 100 countries around the world. Our company has scaled rapidly over the past few years, and our need to leverage M&A and investments as a growth lever has increased.

To ensure a seamless customer experience, HubSpot seeks acquisitions that serve as building blocks for our engineering, product, marketing and sales teams. This means we are not cobbling together a finished product or service through M&A that results in a disjointed customer experience, but rather we’re building new products and services using acquired assets. The Corporate Development team partners closely with HubSpot’s product organization to craft a thoughtful inorganic growth strategy, and to execute on that strategy via acquisitions and post-M&A integration.

As the M&A Integration and Ops Associate you will be driving and owning the end-to-end integration process from signing of the LOI to post-close execution. This involves developing and managing the integration plan, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with the overall deal strategy. This individual contributor role requires someone excited about working with a myriad of stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this individual contributor role will have a breadth of experience working across large M&A deals as well as small acquihires. Integration leads are also resourceful and persuasive, aligning internal teams on a solution to be able to move a deal forward.

This is a high impact, highly visible role and as the M&A Integration and Ops Associate you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and be an active participant in all stages of the corporate development process.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Lead acquisitions and manage the deal process from business case development to execution and post-close value capture, identifying and incorporating key issues discovered during diligence
  • Partner with the deal sponsor, functional teams and workstream leaders to develop the integration approach and organizational structure for the acquired company
  • Monitor the integration process, address roadblocks, and provide updates on progress and outcomes to senior leadership pre- and post-close
  • Lead development of acquisition objectives and measurable KPIs aligned with transaction value drivers and synergy plan to drive performance management
  • Drive the day-to-day integration execution management, including development of integration plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing weekly check-ins and driving proactive issue resolution
  • Conduct reviews and post-mortems to lead the refinement of M&A and integration playbooks that incorporate industry best practices across all functions and work streams
  • Develop and manage a scorecard for each M&A deal, and track and report on progress and achievement of key deal objectives and milestones/KPIs

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Have extensive experience supporting and leading M&A integration efforts for multiple deals, from fast and small acquihires to large and complex acquisitions/mergers.
  • Specialize in driving initiatives end-to-end and have an incredibly strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Are comfortable jumping into fast-paced, quickly evolving situations and immediately rolling up your sleeves to work with the team tackling problems and finding solutions.
  • Can build trust quickly with stakeholders at all levels of leadership; you’re adept at stakeholder management, delegation, and strategic communications.
  • Excellent communicator, with great written and spoken communication skills; ability to build healthy relationships with internal business leaders and corporate functions
  • Deep understanding of and love for both the SMB markets and HubSpot customer values, needs, and goals
