The role

We are looking for a Hardware Delivery Technical Manager to join our team. Our Hardware Delivery Team manages the full lifecycle of hardware in the company, from gathering infrastructure requirements from internal services, placing and tracking hardware orders with ODMs, overseeing manufacturing, logistics, and inventory, to deployment and handover to service teams in data centers. We also conduct post-deployment analysis to enhance future processes. This role involves occasional business trips to data centers and server manufacturing facilities.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Collect and analyze hardware requirements from internal teams.
  • Translate service needs into hardware orders and manage procurement processes with the procurement team and ODMs.
  • Develop and manage production and deployment schedules, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Oversee hardware manufacturing, inventory management, and logistics to data centers.
  • Ensure smooth deployment of servers in data centers and their transition to internal services.
  • Identify and implement alternative solutions to keep the project on schedule and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize internal tool performance and automation for the hardware delivery process.
  • Manage relationships and negotiations with ODMs, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Conduct lessons learned after each delivery and deployment cycle to improve future processes.

We expect you to have: 

  • Experience working in data centers with a strong understanding of modern server architectures, particularly in high-performance GPU-based environments.
  • Knowledge of server components and ability to configure hardware to meet different service needs. Ability to quickly adapt to new server components and technologies on the market.
  • Project management skills, including experience with Gantt charts and production timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Communication and negotiation skills for vendor management and coordination.

It will be an added bonus if you have: 

  • Proficiency in Python for automation and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Bash scripting for automation.
  • Mandarin (Chinese) language skills.
