NA Ops Sustainability Strategy & Execution (SSE) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sustainability Program Manager to lead waste data improvement and fidelity across North American Operations. This role will focus on deep diving sustainability data, continuously improving gaps in both external 3rd Party vendors and internal Amazon operations reporting all while improving sustainability culture for NA operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive analysis of waste sustainability data across all operational sites, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders (operations teams, facilities management, procurement) and external partners (waste management vendors).
- Present regular updates to leadership on program progress and impact.
- Create project plans, develop processes, coordinate across organizations, drive execution, and communicate to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes.
- Improve current processes and mechanisms through continuous improvement and standardization such as SOP and Best practice documentation.
A day in the life
Data Analysis & Reporting (30% of time)
• Review monthly waste metrics from all NA Ops sites
• Partner with BI to improve dashboards and reporting for Ops leadership
• Identify trends and areas for improvement
Site Support & Engagement (30% of time)
• Online meetings with site teams
• On-site visits for program implementation
• Supporting development of site-specific action plans
Stakeholder Management (20% of time)
• Coordinate with vendors on reporting and issues
• Alignment meetings with corporate sustainability team
• Vendor performance reviews
Continuous Improvement & Standardization (20% of time)
• Improve current processes and mechanisms
• Standard Operating Procedure development
• Best practice documentation and sharing
About the team
NA Ops Sustainability Strategy & Execution (SSE)'s vision is to Transform NA Operations to deliver every package with net-positive impact to our planet. Our team is new as of Q3 2024 and spans priorities across Amazon buildings, transportation, data, waste, and ops engagement. This role is specific for the Waste & Engagement team, working directly with NA Operators on an everyday cadence. - 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Bachelor's degree- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
