Strategic Buyer (m/f/x)

The role

From day one you will be responsible for managing our supplier network to ensure the highest-quality products and ingredients for our meal kit offerings. Reporting directly into our Spanish Procurement Manager,you will also benefit from a flat organizational structure that enables direct engagement with senior leadership, including Managing Directors, ensuring your contributions have a visible impact. 

We seek candidates that will bring an analytical, structured and autonomous way of working, focused on delivering results in a high-paced environment. Our ideal applicant has experience from a high performance culture environment, ideally in the food/retail industry, and is hungry to take on a challenge and make an impact at a fun, fast-growing, mission-driven meal kit delivery service business.

The successful applicant will require a mix of entrepreneurialism, creativity, administration and commercial approach.

What you’ll do

• Be in charge of managing the weekly supply of our ingredients to ensure our customers receive high-quality ingredients on time
• Be a CatMan! - You will own a category, managing procurement, pricing, reporting, replenishments, compliance, tenders, and stakeholder relationships.
• Resolve any unforeseen issues with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance quickly and professionally.
• Work hand-in-hand with Product, FSQA and Production teams to identify buying needs of a variety of different product commodities, from spices to nuts to protein and more.
• Assist in developing a reliable, competitive and sustainable network of suppliers for the company that meet criteria including (but not limited to) price, quantity, quality, and timeliness 
• Negotiate and manage operational relationships with new and existing network of suppliers
• Analyze purchasing data to guarantee accuracy of information, identify & address any discrepancies, and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures 
• Analyze spending patterns to identify saving opportunities
• Ensure all shipments meet HelloFresh OTIFIQ standards with On Time, In Full and In Quality deliveries at all times in our Distribution Center (will require regular in-person checks)
• Create and maintain purchasing files and price lists, collate data relating to suppliers’ performance, assist with cost reporting and invoice validation

What you’ll bring

• 3+ years of procurement and/or sourcing experience in produce or other perishable food fields
• Spanish is a must and conversational English is nice to have 
• Customer-centric and willing to go the extra mile to satisfy customer needs
• Solution oriented, hands-on and great communicator, capable of managing unforeseen situations independently
• Detail-oriented, organised, with proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet time sensitive deadlines
• Data driven - curious about what insights can be derived from numbers
• Highly adaptable - you thrive in a fast-paced, high-change and dynamic work environment
• Strong communication skills to tackle complex challenges and manage a diverse supplier network effectively.
• Passionate about our business: a foodie or an operations and problem-solving zealot
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, specifically MS Excel and Google Sheets
• Obsessed with food!
