Are you looking for an opportunity to build an LLM based enterprise-grade, highly available, large scale, software solution? Does it excite you to find patterns and build generic, composable software solutions to solve complex problems? If so, we are looking for you to fill a challenging position in Alexa Enterprise Products team.

This is a hands-on position where you will get an opportunity to get involved at every level of the software development cycle, from designing and building rock-solid components to deploying and monitoring them in production, as well as mentoring other engineers. We are looking for a software developer with a good track record of delivering, as well as strong communication, leadership and customer-focus skills. This is a unique and rare opportunity to become a part of a fast-growing business and help shape technology and features for Alexa at enterprise properties.

You will lead the design, development, testing and deployment of cross team projects, meet with stakeholders, drive execution, and mentor junior engineers. You will be an independent technical leader, capable of working on your own and guiding team members to navigate complex problems. In this role, you will lead and architect Alexa-enabled devices. You will influence architecture across the Alexa ecosystem and play a pivotal role in designing the future of Alexa 3P devices. You will lead projects to streamline team processes and create mechanisms to effectively deliver projects.

Key job responsibilities
• As a Sr. SDE on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development and launch of some of the core services and features to will be used across multiple teams within Amazon and outside.
• You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
• The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record of success in delivering new features and products.
• A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

A day in the life
You will be the technical leader responsible for design, development, and operations. You will brainstorm new ideas and work on forward looking architectures and design with Principal Engineers and other Senior Software Engineers. You will architect, analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy software features and fix defects. You will participate and lead in sprint planning and daily scrum, break down technical work, identify technical blockers, and navigate solutions. You will mentor team members. You will partner with your managers, other technical leaders across the org to achieve a desired technical consensus. You will author docs to communicate vision, proposals and designs.

About the team
Our team enables enterprise-scale deployment of Alexa-enabled devices at enterprise properties like, Hotels, Hospitals, etc. We develop core functionality that extends Alexa's capabilities and bring magical voice/graphical based experiences for residents at these properties and act as property assistant.- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
