The Riot Operations Center (ROC) provides 24/7 live response for issues that impact our players. The ROC maintains three sites around the world to provide this coverage, and each site must be able to act independently while keeping its processes and direction aligned with those of the ROC as a whole. Currently, the ROC is working to grow the engineering muscle in Riot’s incident detection and response, with the goal of being able to take over much of the technical triage and mitigation currently performed by game teams, making incidents easier to resolve, less impactful to players, and less likely to occur.
As a Manager, Software Engineering you will ensure that the Los Angeles ROC is providing high quality live response during its share of the ROC’s follow-the-sun coverage model. You will support the engineering growth of the Rioters in the Los Angeles ROC as we expand the team’s capabilities and projects. You will guide the team in creating engineering solutions to problems in the incident detection, response, and prevention spaces, and you’ll grow engineers who know that nothing is more important to our games than how our players experience them.
For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!
Riot focuses on work/life balance, shown by our open paid time off policy and other perks such as flexible work schedules. We offer medical, dental, and life insurance, parental leave for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children, and a 401k with company match. Check out our benefits pages for more information.
