Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in consumer product management or a related field, including 6 years of experience managing Product Management teams.
  • Experience working in global teams in a matrixed environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience successfully launching beloved consumer products at scale, including zero to one products.
  • Ability to set and drive the big picture strategy for a product team, while also contributing directly and providing detailed guidance on individual projects.
  • Excellent organizational leadership, ability to collaborate with and influence teams across boundaries, including technical proficiency and ability to work closely with Engineering partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent complex business or technical concepts with senior leadership.

Search Vertical and Translate’s mission as a team is to inspire action by connecting people to the journeys that matter the most in their lives on Search: sports and entertainment, joy through cooking and connecting, and critical journeys such as translation/language, health, weather, and more.

The Consumer Verticals team is a large part of the Search Verticals organization. The Consumer Verticals team works to connect people to their favorite experiences across media, sports, cooking, pop culture and more. A significant proportion of Search users engage with and enjoy experiences that the team builds. Consumer Verticals is made up of key verticals including sports, TV and movies, recipes, video games and more, as well as “diagonal” product areas that cross-cut verticals, including “entities”, recommendation and categorical product, scaling of experiences and new emerging 0 to 1 products such as vertical integrations with Lens.

As the Director of Product Management, you will lead our personalization across consumer verticals, and a quality workstream to ensure our products can use vertical data to build amazing experiences. You will manage a distributed team of Product Managers in the US and India in a complex environment, while owning the future vision and roadmap of these core products. You'll bring a strong product vision, creativity and innovation, and flex across both strategic and operational initiatives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Drive the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for Consumer verticals scaling, personalization and quality, including building core horizontal capabilities and leveraging generative AI to build highly innovative experiences across complex journeys.
  • Deliver high-quality and impactful launches through close partnership with Engineering, UX and other key stakeholders (including other Product leaders).
  • Unlock roadblocks at the corporate level and cultivate collaboration with senior product leaders across Google through leadership, creativity, intelligence and presence.
  • Inspire a team of product managers and collaborate with a large team of dedicated engineers.
