Engineering Manager - Design System

About the role:

Join Dashlane as an Engineering Manager and take part in a mission to create a beautiful and scalable application with global impact. As a team manager, helping us build, grow, and lead the teams that are building and maintaining our Dashlane web extension that is used by millions of clients around the world.

Location:

You will be based in Lisbon, with English as your working language. We offer a hybrid work arrangement, with Tuesday being the company day, where we all collaborate in the office and have a company-sponsored meal, a department day for team bonding (will be Thursday for your department), and a third day at your choice. We offer relocation support (national and international) for individuals who are already legally eligible to work in the European Union.

At Dashlane you will:

• Build a strong ownership and accountability culture within your team, as the business and product complexity grows at a rapid pace.
• Help your direct reports grow and develop as managers, leaders, engineers, and teammates
• Recruit new software engineers, and participate in Dashlane’s effort to be visible in the tech community in Lisbon
• Support your team and make them autonomous by giving them all the appropriate tools they need to deliver without friction
• Lead managerial initiatives to improve our current systems and processes in support of the company’s mission
• Deliver Engineering strategy goals and actively contribute to shaping roadmaps and technical initiatives, including refinement sessions, ADRs, and other technical documents.
• Work closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver on our Product Roadmap
• Help define the direction of the Product Experience teams to improve the stability, security, and quality of the Dashlane product
• Work with passionate teams of engineers, product managers, testers, customer support agents, and others in a friendly and multicultural environment

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering 
• 2+ years of experience in people management (ideally in a distributed environment) 
• Fluency in English

We're Also Looking For:

• Javascript/Typescript experience
• Experience with a company at roughly Dashlane's size and scaling up (100-500 employees)
• Experience working in a distributed team across multiple timezones
• You have a BS in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management, or similar relevant field
• Experience in contributing to and enhancing Design Systems, ensuring attention to detail and maintaining UX consistency
• Solid understanding of SaaS business metrics, including user onboarding, trial conversion rates, retention strategies, and customer
