What You Will Be Doing

The Training Content Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of technical training programs, materials, and video tutorials. This role will work closely with internal customer teams (Engineering, Compliance, Support, and others) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of technical training for various ChargePoint hardware and software products. You will collaborate with technical writers and technical illustrators to develop interactive training experiences for technicians, partners, and other technical audiences. The successful candidate will also have experience delivering instructor-led workshops, webinars, and other live presentations to train other trainers and support our partners.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Create interactive learning activities, course content and certification programs to install, maintain, and service ChargePoint products (hardware and software) while following current styles and brand standards.
  • Able to learn complex hardware products quickly and produce technical training with the assistance of subject matter experts.
  • Actively gather information from and collaborate with engineers, product designers, and product managers to identify and capture learning content.
  • Analyze and understand various software systems to translate that into a comprehensible training format.
  • Create and maintain interactive learning experiences that engage diverse technical audiences, such as field technicians, installers, and end-users.
  • Design and develop scalable training programs, such as e-learning modules, video tutorials, and instructional guides for a global audience.
  • Knowledgeable about best practices for creating localized content for global audiences and preparing it for localization by third-party vendors.
  • Project manage all phases of a learning project – analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistency and clarity across all training and documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in the design and development of instructional material in a complex product environment (Hardware AND Software).
  • Ability to create digital content with clean aesthetic design and layout under specific brand guidelines, with a focus on overall user experience.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions.
  • Ability to write behavioral objectives, tests, and course materials using instructional design theories.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill technical information from subject matter experts and translate it into training relevant to the target audience.
  • Familiarity with localization and creating content for different regions.
  • Highly effective presentation, facilitation, and questioning skills with a strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360 or other e-learning course authoring tools is required.
  • Proficient in raster and vector-based image editing with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Proficient in video editing and production with non-linear editors (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience with implementation, configuration, and maintenance of learning management systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools.
  • Knowledge of 3D rendering, animation, and production of realistic product visuals (Cinema 4D) from 3D assets is a plus.
