Job Overview:

The Global Director of Solutions Consulting is a critical leadership role responsible for driving revenue across Coursera’s enterprise business. This position will transform the current Solutions Consulting team from a regional model, where Solution Consultants report to regional sales leaders, into a unified global function under a single leader. The Director will bring strong Solutions Consulting (often referred to as Sales Engineering) expertise and a proven track record of driving revenue through pre- and post-sales activities.

We are seeking a high-impact leader who can energize and provide strategic direction to a globally dispersed, remote team. Reporting to the VP of Customer Experience, this role will work closely with peers leading Sales, Account Management, Product Marketing, Product, Customer Success Management, and Implementation.

Solutions Consultants at Coursera deliver value by attaching to new business, expansion, and renewal deals. They play a pivotal role in designing solutions, delivering product demos, mapping complex skills and content, and ensuring deals close successfully. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, developing deep expertise in Coursera’s product, content catalog, and positioning in order to lead from the front while building a scalable, high-performing global Solutions Consulting function.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a global Solutions Consulting team that drives revenue by attaching to pre and post-sales deals.
  • Hire, develop, and retain high-performing Solution Consultants and Managers in AMER, EMEA, and APAC, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to design and present tailored solutions that accelerate adoption, time-to-value, and measurable business impact.
  • Develop expertise in Coursera’s product, content catalog, and go-to-market solutions to create impactful Solution Consulting interventions that drive new business, expansions, and renewals.
  • Establish scalable frameworks, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistent, high-quality solution delivery globally.
  • Define and track metrics for pipeline influence, customer engagement, and revenue impact to measure and optimize Solution Consulting activities.
  • Act as a strategic advisor and executive sponsor for high-value accounts, aligning solutions with customer needs and objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Pre-Sales, or a related function, with at least 5+ years leading teams in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of managing solution consulting or sales engineering teams with 5+ people
  • Demonstrated history of designing and delivering tailored solutions for enterprise, academic, or government clients that drive measurable revenue impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage C-level stakeholders to align solutions with organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Solutions consulting experience
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • Managed teams of 10+ people, including 2+ managers
