We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Operations Lead to join our Legal Operations team. This role will report directly to the Chief of Staff of the Legal Department and will be instrumental in scaling our legal team.
Key responsibilities include leading initiatives in knowledge management and matter management, evaluating and managing legal technology solutions, and providing project management support for operational initiatives. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the legal department, develop and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency, and monitor and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Lead matter management and knowledge management initiatives
Facilitate knowledge sharing across the legal department and other departments
Implement strategies to capture and leverage institutional knowledge
Evaluate, implement, and manage legal technology solutions
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the legal department
Develop and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency for the legal department
Monitor and report on key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment on legal operations initiatives
Support the legal department’s budgeting, procurement and financial management activities
Provide operational support and project management support to the legal team as needed
What We Look For
4+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or in a related field
Experience developing matter management and knowledge management systems
Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills (PMP or Agile certification is a plus)
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with legal technology
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including tact, sensitivity, and interacting well with management at all levels
Proven self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities with agility and efficiency, acting as a pivotal contributor to a high-performing team
Proactive and adaptable: confidently makes informed decisions, thrives with minimal guidance, and enjoys a dynamic environment that celebrates innovation
Outstanding attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
Base Pay Grade - J
Equity Grade - 5
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $130,000 - $170,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $115,000 - $155,000
