HubSpot is searching for a Principal Event Tech Production Manager to provide strategic direction and leadership across technology for our events portfolio, aiming to craft an unparalleled digital journey for attendees. This pivotal role will be at the forefront of managing and innovating platforms such as our website, mobile app, and registration tool, among others. We are seeking an individual with exceptional strategic problem-solving skills, adept at navigating ambiguity, with a strong enthusiasm for mastering and advocating for sophisticated SaaS tools. As our event tech lead, you will spearhead the strategy planning and execution of product launches, driving cross-functional collaboration to ensure key milestones are achieved with excellence, on time, and within budget.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define and drive the strategy for our event technology, collaborating with leadership and cross functional partners. Spearhead the development of cutting-edge solutions that align with overall organization goals.
  • Oversee vendors and support team to ensure the stability and integration of the tech stack (including websites, registration tools, event mobile apps, speaker and sponsor resource centers, and more), addressing any interruptions immediately. Consult on the strategy and implementation of the full digital attendee experience for each event. 
  • Champion the integration of AI into the attendee experience and for use within the production team.
  • Manage annual budget planning and resource allocation. 
  • Oversee high-level vendor partnerships and negotiate terms to optimize value for the business. Manage end-to-end lifecycle including discovery and scoping, production timelines, design direction, development, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams, such as Martek, Systems Ops, and Fintech to ensure the technical feasibility and scalability of our digital properties. Develop an understanding of the relationship between HubSpot’s CRM and our event registration tools to collaborate cross functionally.
  • Provide resourcing and training for other team members on our tools and update the wider team on process changes YoY as our products evolve. Mentor more junior event tech support teammates and provide feedback and approvals across workstreams.
  • Deliver top-notch project management and operational support for all event-related tech initiatives, analyzing post-event outcomes for growth opportunities and best practice implementation.
  • Maintain and expand a database of event tech vendors and industry leaders, staying informed and identifying new and innovative strategic partnerships.
  • Field questions about our products both in our external event Help inboxes and internal Slack channels, create tutorials and present demos in live webinars, and prepare canned communications.
  • Act as registration and technical support onsite to resolve attendee issues and inquiries.

Skillset Requirements

  • 8-10+ years direct experience architecting technical frameworks for an overall tech stack that includes registration, content management tools, website, mobile app
  • Proven experience leading complex project initiatives and integrations at an organizational level
  • Passion for exploring the use of AI
  • Someone who can pick up new systems easily, identify gaps, and solve quickly
  • Thorough understanding of UX/UI with a keen eye for web and mobile design
  • Experience using Airtable or another content management platform
  • Technical product management experience, including agile methodology and how to properly QA products and run ticket triaging systems
  • Superior project management and organizational skills
  • Benefit if have managed integrations with HubSpot or another CRM
  • Benefit if have ability to create simple graphics in Adobe tools or Canva
  • Must be willing to travel quarterly and keep flexible work hours to accommodate event schedules and collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones

Cash compensation range: 114000-182000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
