Job Summary: 

The Junior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting global revenue recognition and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting processes (ASC 606), with a focus on reviewing transactions, preparing supporting schedules, and collaborating cross-functionally with key teams.

You’ll review Salesforce Opportunities, approve estimates in NetSuite, and prepare deferral and amortization schedules related to COGS. You’ll also assist with month-end close, billing corrections, reconciliations, and posting journal entries. This role works closely with Sales Operations, Accounts Receivable, and the Revenue Accountant to ensure accuracy in revenue and cost reporting across U.S. and international entities.

A solid understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and hands-on experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Excel is essential. You’ll report to the Revenue Accountant and play an important supporting role in global accounting operations.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP

  • Experience using NetSuite, Salesforce (SFDC), and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Solid understanding of billing, AR, and revenue processes

Responsibilities

Daily

  • Review and approve Salesforce Opportunities and related NetSuite Estimates

  • Respond to revenue recognition inquiries regarding SFDC and NetSuite

Monthly

  • Conduct Power BI billing correction reviews, propose and process corrections

  • Generate intercompany invoices and bills for U.S. and WFOE subsidiaries

  • Prepare amortization and deferral schedules for COGS

  • Record journal entries for Unbilled Hardware COGS Deferral

  • Reconcile Avalara transactions with NetSuite

  • Post monthly COGS amortization journal entries

  • Prepare and reconcile the Deferred Revenue Rollforward working paper

  • Reconcile Proprietary Hardware COGS Deferral accounts

Required Skills

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for process accuracy

  • Ability to navigate and learn accounting systems

  • Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivots, formulas)

  • Strong grasp of AR, billing, COGS, and revenue-related processes

  • Organized and comfortable with deadline-driven tasks
