Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in the Silicon industry.
  • Experience analyzing silicon data using programming languages and analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with silicon testing methodologies, test equipment, test data formats (ex: STDF), and common silicon analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Colab or Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Experience gathering and documenting analysis requirements from stakeholders, translating them into actionable specifications, and soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Basic understanding of SQL for data validation and querying.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with teams from a broad set of domains and stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills using Python, Pandas, and libraries like Matplotlib, or Plotly.

As a Silicon Analysis Engineer on Google's Silicon Data team, you will be a crucial bridge between our cutting-edge Silicon Engineering teams and our data platform. You will advocate a more data-driven and automated analysis practice across our organization, working with Silicon Engineers to understand their challenges and translate those needs into impactful data solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our data platform and its impact on silicon analysis. You will help us scope and design solutions that make our silicon teams more efficient, and be a key contributor to improving our analysis practices across the entire SoC lifecycle, from NPI to mass production. You will quickly address urgent analysis needs for silicon engineers, providing valuable insights and driving rapid improvements. At the same time, your work will directly contribute to our understanding of future requirements, allowing us to build a flexible and adaptable data platform. A portion of your role will involve managing stakeholder priorities and collaborating with the other members of the Silicon Data team on project planning and execution.

  • Partner closely with Silicon Engineers across multiple teams to understand their key analysis workflows, identify pain points, and translate those needs into prioritized requirements for our data platform.
  • Develop and demonstrate analysis prototypes, using analysis tools such as Python and Colab, to drive faster decision-making.
  • Act as a key liaison between Silicon Engineering and our Silicon Data team, ensuring the data platform effectively supports critical analysis needs, and iterating on features based on user feedback.
  • Establish and maintain processes for monitoring the quality of silicon data from our Contract Manufacturers (CMs), ensuring data accuracy and reliability for analysis.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and priorities, collaborating with other members of the Silicon Data team to develop project plans and track progress towards key milestones.
