Are you looking for an opportunity to build an LLM based enterprise-grade, highly available, large scale, software solution? As a Sr. SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying solutions for Alexa Enterprise Products for world-wide customers. In this, you will collaborate closely with Alexa teams and functions to influence our overall strategy and define the team’s road map. You will also drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices that enable a quality product, and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for our Alexa Enterprise Product team, you’ll design, develop, and implement innovative applications for our worldwide customers. You’ll build new services and experiences pragmatically and iteratively, simplifying complex problems and delivering efficient solutions.

You’ll provide technical leadership, overseeing system architecture and design while mentoring junior team members. Your expertise in computer science fundamentals and experience with large-scale distributed systems will create reliable, scalable, and high-performance products.

Collaboration is key. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners, communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Your strong communication skills will translate technical concepts to non-technical team members and foster teamwork.

As a technical leader, you’ll impact new feature direction and implementation. This role requires excellence, a strong work ethic, and adaptability in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You’ll lead cross-team projects, meet stakeholders, drive execution, and mentor junior engineers. You’ll lead and architect Alexa-enabled devices, influencing Alexa ecosystem architecture and designing the future of Alexa 3P devices. You’ll streamline team processes and deliver projects effectively.

A day in the life
You will be the technical leader responsible for design, development, and operations. You will brainstorm new ideas and work on forward looking architectures and design with Principal Engineers and other Senior Software Engineers. You will architect, analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy software features and fix defects. You will participate and lead in sprint planning and daily scrum, break down technical work, identify technical blockers, and navigate solutions. You will mentor team members. You will partner with your managers, other technical leaders across the org to achieve a desired technical consensus. You will author docs to communicate vision, proposals and designs.

About the team
Alexa Enterprise Products Team provides enterprise-ready features, making it easy to deploy, integrate, and manage Alexa-enabled devices and experiences at scale for a variety of property types.

We work on expanding Alexa's use case by creating features and core Alexa system functionality that allows Alexa to be use by enterprises (as opposed to personal homes). You will be writing code to deliver these pieces of functionality.- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
