Selling Partner Services Finance Organization is seeking Business Analyst for it's Controllership and Governance team. The team identifies and leads cost-to-serve reduction initiatives across the org. They diagnose existing Amazon processes and metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes.
This role requires a self-motivated, analytically-minded leader with strong oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and has a passion for delivering best-in-class solutions. This role will work closely with technical teams, data and science, business intelligence, tax, operations, and other various stakeholders. This role will support highly impactful, cross functional projects that have high visibility with leadership in the Finance organization.
We are looking for a person who loves solving complex problems to drive analysis and insights to help our teams make meaningful business decisions. The person should have a detailed understanding of a business requirement or the ability to quickly get to the root cause of a particular business issue, and draft solutions to meet requirements or resolve the problems. You will analyze massive data sets, identify areas to improve, define metrics to measure and monitor programs, and work with different stakeholders to drive improvements over time. You will extract or mine information from our existing systems to create new analysis, and expose data from our group to wider teams in intuitive ways.
Key job responsibilities
• Transform data into actionable business information, and make it readily accessible to stakeholders
• Use data to support ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and provide unique ways to present data and information in an easy to consume format
• Identify root causes, trends, and patterns and how they impact business
• Perform data analytics working with large data sets using various tools and technologies
• Partner with engineering teams to define the data elements and data structures that the team should audit for seller’s metrics
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
• Engage with leadership and diversified groups to understand the needs and recommend business intelligence solutions. Work with business intelligence engineers, data engineering, software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points
• Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve finance, operational and quality metrics
• Participate in strategic & financial planning discussions
• Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent- 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
