Amazon’s US Consumables B2B team is looking for a customer obsessed Sr. Business Development Manager responsible for driving sales through our Amazon Business marketplace. Amazon Business is dedicated to offering a broad selection of products and supplies to healthcare, education, government, and commercial business customers at competitive prices. The US Consumables categories include food, beverages, healthcare, personal care, cleaning, beauty, and baby care supplies.
As a Sr Business Development Manager you will create new partnerships (both internally and externally), grow existing relationships with Fortune 500 companies, while reducing costs without sacrificing the customer experience. This role is an ideal next step for a leader who is looking to develop into the next stage of his/her career path and to gain exposure to leadership both internally and externally.
This position has responsibilities that can create step-level changes to the business by collaborating with the Amazon Business organization and our Category Management teams to leverage selection and pricing opportunities that will delight our top B2B customers. This role requires an individual who can work autonomously in a highly demanding environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B e-commerce, obsess over meeting the needs of our top B2B customers, while being able to work in an ambiguous but collegial environment where teamwork is essential to delivering results for our B2B customers. The right candidate will be action and results oriented, and be able to move with speed to implement their own ideas. The candidate should be strong analytically and be comfortable using complex data/metrics to come up with recommendations and guidance to present to leadership. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are critical.
The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following:
· Develop and grow strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally
· Act as a leader and ambassador of Amazon and B2B across Consumables categories, developing deep knowledge of product, pricing, and demand trends for our top customers across multiple verticals
· Gather and address feedback from our top customers and drive business improvement initiatives to address top customer pain points to unlock customer spend on Amazon Business
· Ability to see around corners and pioneer new initiatives with stakeholders across the company
· Strong collaboration with the Amazon Business Sales & Marketing teams as well as our Category Management team (Vendor Management, Marketing, Finance, Product Management) driving shared financial goals and deliverables for our top customers
Key job responsibilities
- Own the relationship with the Amazon Business Public Sector sales org
- Lead and manage strategic Customer Facing products to help grow the Consumables business within Amazon Business, specifically within the Public Sector of Amazon Business
- Develop new processes and products that help customers discover Amazon Business as a destination for Consumables products. - 5+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
- Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
