Location: Location: Hybrid, Sunnyvale, California (3-5 days in office)

This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 27th 2025 or June 23rd 2025. This internship is based in Sunnyvale, California, and will require a hybrid work schedule. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Work on breaking out the Core PCE into microservices to improve scalability, flexibility, and maintainability. 

  • Learn and apply best practices in microservices architecture, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and modularity. 

  • Contribute to designing and implementing solutions for horizontal scalability to allow the platform to efficiently handle larger and more diverse workloads. 

  • Assist in optimizing the system’s performance under varying load conditions, ensuring consistent responsiveness and reliability. 

  • Work on enabling zero-downtime upgrades and continuous delivery (CD) processes for the platform to improve system uptime and reliability. 

  • Help automate deployment and rollback strategies to ensure that updates can be applied with minimal disruption to users. 

  • Gain hands-on experience with containerization tools (such as Docker) and orchestration platforms (such as Kubernetes) to support microservices. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for scaling, reliability, and performance. 

Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelors Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026. 

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Go, or similar). 

  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus. 

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and an understanding of horizontal scalability and high-availability systems is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems. 

  • Basic understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is desirable. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • A passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

$ 37 USD - $ 47 USD
