Associate, Asset Protection Host (Full-Time)
Location: Wilmette, IL
The pay for this position is $17.00/hr however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Overview:
As an Associate, Asset Protection Host, you'll be the first and last impression for our Wayfair guests and employees each day. You will support our Leadership team by setting the tone for an exceptional in-store experience. This highly visible role is perfect for someone who is eager to interact with people, thrives in a customer service environment, and brings a friendly, charismatic, and engaging approach to every single interaction. In addition to greeting and engaging, this role will also play a core part in identification of any behaviors not aligned with our store's standards and effectively communicating these observations to the Asset Protection (AP) Leadership team.
What Does a Guest Experience Host Do?
- Create a Welcoming Store Experience: Greet and engage customers at store entrances, providing clear and friendly guidance while maintaining a welcoming presence.
- Support Customer & Team Needs: Assist guests with inquiries, communicate concerns to store leadership, and provide support for associates as needed.
- Enhance Asset Protection Efforts: Report behaviors that may indicate policy violations or security risks, escalating concerns to the Asset Protection (AP) team.
- Maintain Safety Standards: Conduct regular safety checks throughout the store and back-of-house areas, reporting any safety concerns to store and AP leadership. Respond quickly and appropriately to safety incidents involving guests or associates.
- Monitor Store Security: Oversee security desk operations, ensuring proper check-in and check-out procedures for associates and visitors. Monitor store cameras at key areas, including entrances, exits, and back-of-house.
- Assist with Administrative Tasks: Support store operations by managing phone inquiries, voicemails, associate questions, and device check-ins/check-outs. Accurately record, document and escalate incidents related to theft, fraud, safety, or other security concerns timely and confidentially.
What are the Job Requirements?
- Customer-Facing Experience: 1+ years of experience in retail, customer service, or a similar setting.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Google Suite, including email, Google Sheets, and other platforms.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to work a schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
