At D2L, we are looking for developers who will help us advance our goal of using technology to transform teaching and learning around the world. We need software developers to work on a wide range of technologies including, but not limited to: distributed systems, machine learning, user interfaces, mobile and cloud computing. As a developer, you will help make dreams a reality.

We are looking for software developers who have a passion for technology and code. Beyond code, developers are expected to collaborate closely with others including technical product managers, designers and QA. Your ideas and perspectives are essential to making sure we are building the right things.

Join Team Borg: Software Development for the Brightspace Platform

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer 2 to join our dynamic Borg team, where we specialize in building and enhancing the Quiz Tool—a critical, yet complex component of the Brightspace Platform. As part of the team, you will work with a diverse range of technologies, including Lit, C#, and SQL, to develop new features and optimize performance.  We take pride in our commitment to quality, with a strong focus on testing and maintenance to ensure a reliable user experience. You'll be working alongside talented Developers at various levels of experience, providing an excellent opportunity for mentorship and growth.

Our team is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver in the Marine Building, offering easy access to public transit and a variety of dining options. We foster a positive and inclusive culture, with regular social events, office cake days, and celebrations of

successful feature releases.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Ability to analyze and decompose problems into potential technical solutions
  • Experience with OO design and proficient coding skills (ie:  C++, C# or Java)
  • Strong understanding of Computer Science topics including: data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems
  • Experience in software development, preferably in a technology focused company
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar technical discipline

This role is located in Vancouver, BC and has a hybrid office policy. 

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range
$75,000$98,000 CAD
