We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in spatiotemporal data analytics to lead the development of a scalable environment for ingesting, processing, appending, and visualizing complex datasets.
As a Group Director of Spatiotemporal Science, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust framework for spatiotemporal data analytics. You will work across teams to process large-scale spatial datasets, build actionable insights, and create visualizations that enable business decision-making. Role Requirements:
- System Development: Architect and implement a scalable environment for ingesting, processing, and analyzing spatiotemporal data.
- Data Integration: Ensure seamless integration of diverse spatiotemporal datasets, maintaining high data quality and consistency.
- Visualization: Create interactive, intuitive visualizations to effectively communicate spatial and temporal insights.
- Advanced Analytics: Conduct spatial and temporal analysis using advanced techniques, including clustering, optimization, and predictive modeling.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Innovation: Explore and prototype novel methods for analyzing and visualizing spatiotemporal data to unlock new insights.
- Documentation: Develop thorough documentation of workflows, methodologies, and tools to facilitate scalability and collaboration.
Qualities and Characteristics:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science or a related role, with a focus on spatiotemporal data analytics.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with geospatial tools and libraries (e.g., H3, GeoPandas, PostGIS, QGIS).
- Knowledge of visualization frameworks (e.g., Plotly, Deck.gl, Kepler.gl, D3.js).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data storage and processing.
- Specialization: Strong understanding of spatiotemporal data structures, indexing methods, and analytics techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to deliver creative, scalable solutions for complex analytical challenges.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate complex analytics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale spatial indexing systems or hierarchical grids.
- Familiarity with open geospatial data sources (e.g., OpenStreetMap).
- Experience in applying machine learning models to spatial and temporal data.
