Job Description

Remote

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.

Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

The Role

Imagine shaping the future of how people feel confident, secure, and empowered when they engage with financial products. As a Senior Product Designer on our Trust team, you will help ensure that everyone—regardless of background—feels protected, understands their choices, and truly trusts every touchpoint in our ecosystem. This is your opportunity to establish a long-term vision, influence broad design initiatives, and champion design as a catalyst for meaningful, positive change.

In this role, you’ll lead a wide range of initiatives across the customer journey, continually elevating how we design and deliver experiences that invite customers to be co-creators in the most trusted financial services platform. From refining core identity and safety features to shaping innovative new paradigms, your work will give customers the confidence they need to participate fully in the financial world.

This role calls for a dynamic balance: you’ll be both a hands-on contributor—producing exceptional, detail-oriented design solutions—and a design leader who unifies the efforts of others under a coherent, inspiring vision. Through your guidance and craft, you will raise the bar for what Trust can feel like in financial services, ultimately strengthening the relationship between our customers and their money.

This role is remote from the US or Canada.

You Will

  • Set the Vision for a Large Domain: Establish and articulate a forward-looking, customer-focused design vision that guides multiple, complex initiatives within the Trust space. Your work will influence product strategy at the leadership level and shape the way customers interact with and trust our ecosystem.
  • Own Complex, High-Impact Initiatives: Take responsibility for multiple large projects from start to finish, quickly removing roadblocks and making informed decisions to deliver meaningful results for both customers and the business.
  • Raise the Bar for Quality: You’ll drive delivery of work that sets the standard for craft - transforming constraints into creativity to challenge conventions, while pushing peers and collaborators to do the same.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams: Work closely with product, engineering, analytics, research, policy, compliance, and legal partners. You’ll cultivate respectful, trust-based relationships and be a key collaborator in critical decision-making, ensuring that design is recognized as a central factor in business success.

You Have

  • Craft Leadership: Over a decade of professional design experience, including senior or staff-level roles. Known for meticulous attention to detail and consistent delivery of high-quality, innovative work. A track record of delivering complex, large-scale design solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Strategic Systems Thinking: Expertise in working within intricate product ecosystems. Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex requirements into coherent strategies and end-to-end experiences.
  • Business Acumen: Strong ability to link design decisions to business goals. You ensure that user outcomes and business results are aligned and mutually supportive.
  • Adaptive Problem-Solving: A proactive problem-solver who thrives on tackling complex issues, driving alignment through design, setting clear boundaries and expectations, and challenging existing constraints.
  • Influential Communication: A persuasive storyteller who can articulate the value of design, align leadership peers, and rally cross-functional teams around a shared vision.
  • Trust & Compliance Insight (Preferred): Experience navigating domains such as identity, privacy, security, user safety, risk management, or compliance. Able to seamlessly integrate these considerations into the design process while maintaining user-centricity.

If you’re passionate about design that earns and maintains customer trust, and you’re ready to shape strategies, empower teams, and define standards at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
