Design Manager

💚 Groupon is looking for a Design Manager to lead our Marketing Design team. This role will oversee the creation of high-impact digital ads, web and app assets, video creatives, and social media content to drive engagement and conversion. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to scale and optimize creative production globally. They will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the design team, improving workflows, and hiring specialized talent to enhance creative quality.

📝 Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~10 designers, providing strategic direction, oversight, and feedback.
• Oversee the creation of performance-driven marketing creatives, including digital ads, web and app assets, video content, and social media designs.
• Collaborate with marketing teams (eCommerce, Content, Display, and Social Media) to develop visually compelling assets that align with business objectives.
• Work closely with international teams, interacting with sales and product teams as needed.
• Optimize creative workflows to improve team efficiency and output quality.
• Recruit and hire specialists in video, social media, and digital advertising design.
• Ensure design assets contribute to improved conversion rates and campaign effectiveness.
• Drive the scalability of creative production, including localization for multiple languages.
• Introduce and implement new tools and processes to improve creative effectiveness, currently using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Stay updated on digital design trends and best practices in e-commerce marketing.

 💪 Requirements

• Senior-level experience in a design leadership role, preferably within e-commerce.
• Proven track record of managing and scaling in-house creative teams.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience optimizing design workflows and team performance.
• Expertise in performance marketing design (digital ads, social media, video, and web assets).
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on creative feedback.
• Experience working in international environments, managing creatives across multiple languages (remotely is a plus)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with openness to exploring new tools.

• You will work closely with Josef Buryan, our Chief Marketing Officer. He is based in Prague, which is why we would like the new team member to come to the office two days a week to foster better collaboration and team alignment.
