As the Director of Sales Coaching, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our sales strategy, driving the success of our sales teams through expert coaching, strategic insights, and robust training frameworks. We are seeking a Director of Sales Coaching to elevate our sales philosophy and execution across the organization. This pivotal role involves coaching on high-stakes deals, running war rooms, and accompanying sellers on field visits to provide real-time coaching and feedback. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales managers to enhance feedback loops and drive performance. Additionally, they will be responsible for crafting playbooks for team leaders, developing comprehensive training strategies and sales methodologies, and partnering on the development of sales leadership programs. The role also includes leading efforts for large internal sales conferences, ensuring alignment with our strategic sales goals. This position requires significant travel and hands-on engagement with sales teams across various regions


What You’ll Do

Location: 3-5 days a week in office, and on the road up to 20% of time
Reports to: Sr. Director of Learning and Development

  • Coach on Sales Philosophy and Deals: Guide sales teams on high-stakes deals, providing expert advice and strategy to close sales effectively. Use insights from market trends and internal data to optimize sales approaches.
  • Run War Rooms: Lead war room sessions for strategic deal planning and execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align efforts and resources towards closing key accounts.
  • Field Coaching: Travel with sales representatives to key client meetings and sales pitches, offering on-the-spot feedback and coaching to improve sales techniques and outcomes.
  • Feedback Loop Development: Work closely with sales managers to establish and maintain effective feedback loops that enhance sales performance and employee development.
  • Create Sales Playbooks: Develop comprehensive playbooks for team leaders that outline successful sales strategies, tactics, and best practices to standardize excellence across the sales force.
  • Training Strategy and Sales Methodologies: Design and implement innovative sales training strategies and methodologies to continuously elevate the team's performance and adapt to changing market dynamics.
  • Leadership Development Partnership: Collaborate with senior sales leadership to develop and refine leadership development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and leadership standards.
  • Large Sales Conferences: Lead the planning and execution of large internal sales conferences, focusing on strategic content, impactful guest speakers, and actionable takeaways that drive sales success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage regularly with key stakeholders across the organization to gather input and align sales coaching strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of coaching and training initiatives, using data to continually refine approaches and demonstrate ROI to leadership.

What You Bring

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is beneficial, but significant relevant experience in sales leadership or coaching is paramount. We value practical skills and proven job performance in high-stakes sales environments.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 5 years in a sales coaching or sales management role, demonstrating a track record of improving sales team performance and closing major deals.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software, data analysis tools, and sales performance metrics is essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to assess complex sales data and convert insights into actionable sales strategies.
