WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As the Senior Manager, International Payroll, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end payroll operations across the EMEA region, with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence. Based in Ireland, you will directly manage two U.S.-based payroll team members and collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure efficient payroll delivery. You will serve as a regional subject matter expert and help drive strategic initiatives—including the migration from ADP Streamline to ADP Celergo. This is a hands-on role within an audited environment, ideal for someone who combines precision with leadership and thrives in complex, fast-paced global settings.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A driven and detail-oriented payroll leader with international experience and a strong accounting foundation. You are execution-focused, boundary-conscious when partnering with HR and Finance, and confident managing payroll operations remotely. You bring the ability to deliver results while operating as an extension of a high-performing, U.S.-based leadership team

THE SCHEDULE:
This position is based in Ireland. Remote flexibility may be considered, but local presence is strongly preferred due to regional coverage and collaboration needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across EMEA, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with country-specific laws and company policies.
  • Supervise and develop two U.S.-based direct reports, providing ongoing mentorship, performance feedback, and escalation support.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Global Payroll to support the regional migration from ADP Streamline to ADP Celergo, including pre- and post-go-live activities.
  • Collaborate with HR teams to ensure accurate and timely data transfer between the human resources management system and payroll system (ADP).
  • Act as the EMEA payroll subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal stakeholders and addressing complex regional payroll escalations.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and SOX regulations within a documented and reviewed payroll workflow.
  • Coordinate closely with HR and Finance while maintaining clear ownership of payroll deliverables (e.g., ensuring payroll isn’t responsible for upstream HR or Finance tasks).
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries, reconcile payroll accounts, and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Create and maintain EMEA-specific payroll SOPs and documentation.
  • Monitor changes in payroll laws and tax regulations in EMEA countries and ensure timely updates to payroll processes.
  • Support ad hoc payroll data analysis and special projects as required
  • Collaborate across functions and time zones, ensuring cohesive communication with U.S. leadership and regional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years focused on international/EMEA payroll.
  • Strong background in payroll accounting, including cash reconciliation, journal entries, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage global teams and remote employees.
  • Experience working with ADP platforms; exposure to ADP Celergo implementation is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of European labor laws and tax regulations; fluency in German or Dutch is a strong plus.
  • Comfort operating in an audited payroll environment with high accountability.
  • Proven ability to navigate cross-functional boundaries, especially when interacting with HR and Finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and follow through independently.
  • High level of professional intensity, attention to detail, and a mindset of ownership and accountability.
