As a member of YouTube’s Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team, you will be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, YouTube product areas (e.g., Main App, Shorts, YouTube TV, Shopping) and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual aptitude with the organizational skills to manage campaigns, projects, and initiatives across multiple markets. In this role, you will work collaboratively with other GAPP teams and YouTube Product, Business, Marketing, and Communications on a variety of Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives, across key areas of focus, that help tell YouTube’s story to key external stakeholders and local governments. Your global team will drive programs core to our business growth, deliver product and business GTM campaigns, connect YouTube creators with government officials and other key opinion formers, and shape public fora in the entertainment and streaming spaces.
Additionally, you will manage complex topics in a fast paced environment. You will be a strategist, building and implementing cross-functional initiatives. You will utilize organizational skills and have a keen focus on getting things done. You will be a collaborative teammate, partnering across multiple organizations to deliver consistently high performance and objectives. You will be passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.
Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.
