We are looking for a hands-on, techno-functional Lead IT Financial Business Systems Analyst (BSA) that thrives in a multi-project, fast-paced and high impact environment. As our first finance systems expert and through close partnership with the finance organization, you will drive the strategy and execution of our financial tool-stack to enhance business processes, automate manual work, and reduce risk.
As the Lead IT Financial Business Systems Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:
- Partner closely and deeply understand technology needs of finance teams including, but not limited to, Accounting, Procurement, FP&A, Revenue, and Tax
- Perform the configuration and workflows within NetSuite and other key dependent systems, in collaboration with cross-functional system owners
- Facilitate cross-functional requirements sessions to gather, document, and analyze needs, in order to design and execute on effective and scalable solutions
- Consult and present IT solutions, while detailing pros/cons/tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences, in order to drive alignment and decision making
- Deeply understand and advise on architecture & IT Finance best practices for all stages of our revenue flow, including upstream data sources that are relied on company-wide
- Develop, design and maintain a holistic architectural strategy for our financial applications ecosystem in relation to Whatnot’s needs in the near and long-term
- Deliver on all phases of the software development cycle for critical finance applications including, but not limited to, requirements, build, testing, change management, and deployment
- Partner closely with IT and Finance leadership to develop technical strategy for key finance SaaS technology including NetSuite, Zip, Navan, Pigment, Floqast, Gappify, ADP and other market leaders,
- Work cross-functionally with other critical tool owners, including enterprise applications (Workday, Salesforce) and payment service providers (Stripe, PayPal)

- Assist in establishing and maintaining relevant vendor relationships; work closely with third parties to accomplish internal goals
- Work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, ensuring maximum value-add and execution, while providing operational support as needed

We are looking for a technically savvy, intellectually curious, and highly motivated individual to drive and execute on our finance applications strategy! You will partner closely with all areas of our Finance organization, as well as stakeholders in People and Security, to maximize efficiencies and automations across financial processes.
You should have extensive understanding of finance applications and workflows, excellent problem solving abilities, and a knack for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Our ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical experience in many of the areas listed below, as well as the curiosity and adaptability to learn.
In addition to 8+ years of experience as a finance systems professional, you should have:
- Robust understanding of IT and financial business processes including, but not limited to, order to cash, procure to pay, record to report, financial planning & analysis, and software development lifecycle
- Proven track record of configuring financial applications and automations, with a passion for bringing a consultative mindset based on your industry knowledge, business analysis, and best practices
- A minimum of 5+ years of direct NetSuite experience; NetSuite certification preferred
- Strong relationship building and communication skills with all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executives, and the ability to maintain relationships with external parties
- Experience architecting and delivering on financial applications transformations, through the use of hands-on configuration, workflows, and out-of-box integrations, ideally in a high volume, marketplace environment
- Experience building & scaling IT processes, while creatively incorporating automation and cutting edge technology to ensure they will sustain our high growth environment
- The ability to think analytically and innovatively, maintaining attention to detail while keeping the big picture in focus
- Deep understanding of leading and emerging market trends in SaaS financial applications and architectures, including upstream and downstream impacts
- Direct experience preferred with additional financial tools such as Zip, Pigment, Navan, and/or competitors in respective areas
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; demonstrated success and comfort to manage and prioritize multiple projects and priorities, while maneuvering ambiguity with ease
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
For Full-Time (Salary) US-based applicants: $180,000/year to $240,000/year + benefits + equity.
The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity.
