The Difference You Will Make:
The Senior Manager, Trust Global Partnerships & Law Enforcement Operations, will lead the Trust Global Partnerships (TGP) and global Law Enforcement Operations teams (LE Ops). TGP focuses on identifying, developing and leveraging Trust & Safety external expert partnerships in furtherance of Airbnb priorities. Through partnerships, TGP supports efforts across Airbnb to create sound policy and products for our stakeholders, peace of mind for our community, increased capacity to act proactively and grow impact in trust and safety. The global LE Ops team is responsible for liaising with law enforcement entities on significant investigations, processing law enforcement data disclosure requests, and building trusted relationships with global law enforcement entities. The Senior Trust Global Partnerships Manager will be a senior role within the GSS team and report directly to the Director, Global Safety & Security.
We are seeking a passionate leader with a strong background as a senior executive in law enforcement or an experienced security professional who can develop strategic initiatives to align Trust & Safety priorities and effective global law enforcement engagements in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment in which Life Safety is the top priority. The successful candidate is a strategic problem solver and valued collaborator with a creative growth mentality who can work collaboratively across senior functional leadership with cross-functional teams.
A Typical Day:
- Leads the development and management of external partnerships and engagement opportunities with industry peers and global networks to provide expertise and insights that inform the evolution of Trust & Safety priorities to align strategy with broader company objectives.
- Leads the Trust and Safety Advisory Coalition (TSAC) which is comprised of more than 20 US-based and international organizations with deep expertise in trust and safety matters relevant to Airbnb
- Develops programs, events, and presentations to deepen engagement with safety experts, NGOs, and other stakeholders to strengthen trust and safety at Airbnb
- Collaborate with internal teams and global safety organizations to develop and enhance safety awareness and other safety related issues in the world.
- Develop new concepts, methods and techniques to identify cross-functional initiatives that can improve Airbnb’s Trust Defenses.
- Identify market segments and external partnership opportunities where applicable for Trust and Safety or Law Enforcement liaison engagements to improve relationships between Airbnb and its global community
- Lead the development and alignment of initiatives, priorities and roadmaps for the regional LE Operations teams based in EMEA, APAC and AMER driving strategic safety efforts for the Airbnb community at scale.
- Develop, manage and lead regional teams around the world to develop and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities globally by building coalitions and partnerships through liaison with International Policing Organizations (e.g., Interpol, Europol, MCCA, IACP, FBI, HSI, etc.)
- Work closely with the legal and public policy teams on engagement with law enforcement authorities, regulators and legislators on online safety, security and law enforcement issues.
- Develop Return on Security Investment metrics and reporting to manage progress against goals and to evaluate the effectiveness of the Trust Global Partnerships and law enforcement operations programs, using data to drive improvement plans and track progress against the strategy/goals.
- Manages logistics of projects from start to finish, including identifying and scoping opportunities, aligning with different teams and functions, advancing contractual agreements, coordinating rollouts and managing budgets;
- Responsible for planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities for Airbnb’s Trust Global Partnerships and law enforcement operations programs
Your Expertise:
- 12+ years of experience as a senior leader in global law enforcement or government relations.
- Proven track record of supporting multi-faceted partnerships with public and private sector and experience working with nonprofit organizations, multilateral organizations, academic experts and policy makers
- Strong track record of organizing and executing events, facilitating consensus building, developing programs and engagements with both internal and external audiences
- A highly developed network of resources, cultivated through years of building relationships in the security industry, government and the tech community to ensure your effectiveness in a wide region with complex geopolitical, cultural and business environments.
- Expansive experience establishing strategic initiatives for Trust & Safety and/or Law Enforcement Operations that impact safety initiatives, data disclosures and global law enforcement partnerships.
- Exceptional project management skills from idea conceptualization to implementation. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Experience proactively solving critical problems of strategic and operational importance that impact safety on the platform, current and future products, technologies and trust defense
- Experience navigating complex / matrixed business organizations and influencing across cross-functional teams
- Experience working on policies that have a global impact by utilizing quantitative and qualitative data to support recommendations
- A proven track record of working collaboratively with subject matter experts on cross-functional teams, balancing disparate priorities, and rapid problem solving in high-stress situations.
- An executive presence with outstanding communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to create executive communications and presentations.
- Experienced manager effective at building trust through relationships and empowering a high-performing team.
- A proven track record of managing performance across a matrixed organization that covers a wide range of geographies, languages, time zones, etc.
- Sound judgment & ability to work independently with minimal supervisory oversight
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Demonstrated commitment to Airbnb’s core values.
- Progressively responsible leadership experience in a large, globally dispersed trust and safety team. Preferred.
