The SAP Application Management team, based in the Leaseweb HQ in Amsterdam Zuidoost, acts as a knowledge base and point of contact on SAP maintenance, implementation and development across all entities and functionalities. The future plan for our team is to upgrade to S/4HANA.
What is the role about?
In this challenging and diverse role, you will be part of our dedicated AM team and you will be involved in the daily maintenance of our SAP systems in a fast changing environment. As SAP Basis & Technical consultant you will be in close contact with key users and business process owners.
You will be the SAP Basis & Technical consultant supporting our colleagues on user issues and requirements, and help to continuously improve our way of working and our systems.
What is the role about:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Basis Consultant to join our SAP-Application Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical architecture, installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP systems and interfacing with 25+ own and constantly changing applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. You will work closely with functional consultants, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver and support mission-critical SAP landscapes across development, quality, and production environments. Additionally, you are willing to work and experienced in adjacent areas like BTP, PI/PO, CPI, SSO, GUI, Printer management, system and interface monitoring etc.. This is a multidiscipline function, so only apply if you are looking for more than “just SAP basis” responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, BTP, SAC, Solution Manager, Content Server, PI/PO, Fiori, etc.).
- Manage SAP system landscape and transport management (TMS).
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across SAP environments.
- Implement and manage SAP security policies in collaboration with the security team.
- Conduct SAP kernel upgrades, patching, and support package implementations.
- Oversee database administration tasks related to SAP systems (SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Manage SAP backups and recovery procedures in collaboration with infrastructure teams.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for SAP projects, migrations, and upgrades.
- Provide expert-level support for incidents, change requests, and root cause analysis.
- Manage and work closely together with our outsourced SAP basis team.
- Mentor medior SAP Baisi & technical consultant and provide technical leadership.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Consultant.
- Deep expertise in SAP system administration (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Fiori).
- Proficient in SAP HANA database administration and optimization.
- Experience with SAP migrations, especially OS/DB and S/4HANA conversion projects.
- Strong knowledge of SAP landscape architecture and cloud integration .
- Experience with implementing and improving Solution Manager.
- Understanding of SAP licensing, user administration, and authorizations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- SAP Basis or HANA certification is a plus.
- Preferably experience in multiplatform 24/7 available, mission critical, SAP hybrid landscapes.
